I say that as if I've actually participated in it. Let me clarify. It has given me the opportunity, one which I have yet to take advantage of. But this post will change that.
So...without further ado...My first stab at FSF!
Prompt: Sombrero
Stares burned from all
directions, setting my face afire. The heat couldn’t escape anywhere with the
woven-straw dome trapping it atop my head, and I shifted it a few times.
A
snicker sounded just off to my right, and I scowled at the mountain of books in
my locker.
“Told
you not to do it, no one ever wins a bet against her,” Logan said. And laughed
again.
So there you have it! Feel free to comment, any and all are appreciated and loved.
Also, you really should check out Lillie McFerrin's blog. She'll give you the full scoop on FSF, and you'll need to link your submission to her blog, anyways.
Plus, it's just an awesome blog.
Blake, this is awesome. SO glad you have a blog and this FSF entry totally made me laugh. There's a story behind that, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteRandom, what language are the words on your gorgeous blog template?! I wish my handwriting looked like that...
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say there was. I really do. Haha
It looks really Eastern European to me...give me a second...::Frantically Google the few words he can make out::
Aha! Tis German. The "nicht" gave it away. =D
Love this. Classic Blake-ish cheekiness. SO GLAD you're doing this!!
ReplyDeleteI want to write about a sombrero...but my brain has gone quite blank....
Thank you! I'm quite glad as well, though I'm sure I've said that many times.
DeleteYou've got a week, don't you? You can totally do it. Totally.
Nice one - mortification personified.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteCongrats on taking the plunge on FSF. I'm fairly new to this, too. Wonder how long this poor kid had to walk around in that sombrero. This was a fun take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's been a very interesting experience in the short time I've been involved. Definitely a gratifying one.
DeleteBy the way Logan was talking about this girl, I have a feeling she wouldn't have been terribly easy on our protagonist. Poor kid. ;) Haha
Thanks for reading, and for the comment!
That is good...really made me smile. So reminiscent of bets wagered and lost as well as childhood dares. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWell thank you! A smile is all I can ask for.
DeleteWell, that and a comment, and you provided both! Thanks. =)
Ooh,what was the bet????? Poor sod. Gotta feel for him. Well done. x
ReplyDeleteThe world may never know. ::evil laughter::
DeleteThank you!
